Goodbye Analog Hello HDTV

I made the switch from Analog to HDTV just over a year ago and purchased a Toshiba 32HLC56 LCD 32 inch Monitor without the a HD tuner built in. My main reason for purchasing this type of HDTV is I wanted to use it as a monitor with my PC as well as viewing programs with it. I am able to connect a PC to the monitor and Dvd player that has a built in tv turner. I also have a HDTV tuner with my PC so I am able to get the Digital Programs over the air, and with cable I am able to get Digital programing to view in high definition.

High definition television, or (HDTV for short), can turn your home entertainment center into a home theater with its wide screen high resolution picture and Dolby Digital 5.
You can notice the difference between the analog picture and HDTV picture quality immediately. It has a much clearer picture and the color is far more vibrant than analog TV.
HDTV signals do not produce snow, lines, or ghosting because of the very high quality and detailed digital signal. HDTV is capable of producing images with resolutions up to 1080 lines of resolution.

Not only does HDTV offer amazing picture clarity and sound, but the image is so lifelike it's like viewing a real scene through a window, it actually makes you feel as if your right there within the picture. The full movie screen like picture on high definition programming that a HDTV set is capable of is very enjoyable.

HDTV uses the same aspect as the screen in a movie theater. Whether you choose an LCD or plasma screen for your HDTV is a personal choice and will depend on your own personal buying decision, but either will produce beautifully rich colors that you can"t help but enjoy as you watch. Even without an HDTV signal though, HDTVs improves the viewing experience anyway due to the increased resolution of the screen, making even normal television signals appear sharper and smoother. HDTV is also much better for viewing programs in wide screen than analog TV, as it allows for less distortion.

Programs in HDTV, have up to ten times the picture resolution of what you"d see with standard definition television, along with an incredibly clear sound. The main differences between HDTV and the standard TV are higher picture resolution, multi-channel audio, and a wide screen 16:9 aspect ratio. In HDTV the number of lines displayed on the screen is greatly enhanced, up to 1080 instead of 525, and the number of pixels on the screen is up to 10X the number of those found in standard television.

While HDTV will probably be the common viewing format in just a few years, you can experience the joy of watching your favorite shows in HDTV"s glorious high resolution and wide-screen now. More and more HDTV channels are becoming accessible over the air and on cable . Just as color televisions replaced black and white, with time HDTV will replace standard definition television and change the way we watch television once again. Since all television broadcasts have been mandated by the FCC in the US to eventually be shown in HDTV format, that will pretty much make all analog TV systems obsolet
